FAQ SL850H / SL800H / S700H / R700H - Charging / Battery
Batteries
Batteries
- Only use rechargeable batteries
- Use Gigaset provided batteries, as they are tested for optimum usage in DECT handsets
- Insert the batteries in your DECT handset and put the handset on the charger to charge the batteries fully prior to first use
- Handset reports battery level correctly after first complete charging and discharging cycle
When you replace the Gigaset provided batteries:
- Only use rechargeable batteries
- Batteries with a capacity > 750mAh normally have a poor life-cycle and are not recommended for DECT-applications
- Handset reports battery level correctly after first complete charging and discharging cycle
Charging
Primary-cell detection
The integrated Primary-cell detection detects if during charging the battery voltage does not exceed the 3.3 V. If high voltage is detected, the handset will stop charging until you take the handset out/in the charger or when the handset reboots due to no power. This is mainly caused by high impedance or wrong type of the batteries (Non-rechargeable, Low quality, old or damaged batteries)
Charge debouncer
The charging debouncer avoids:
- The handset restarts charging when the "table is bounced"
- Handset is in charger and ringing, user takes handset out of charger to answer call and short out/in charger is detected that ends the call
The handset must be removed for 1 second from charger to recognize out-of-charger event. shorter out-of-charger events are suppressed.
